Liverpool's tiny pasta restaurant offering the perfect Saturday night treat

England's second lockdown has given us all the chance to enjoy restaurant food from the comfort of our own homes, and last Saturday I decided to order from a small city centre Italian and it did not disappoint.

I'd previously only tried Castle Street's Pasta Cosa on my lunch breaks pre- coronavirus pandemic before working from home started.

Pasta Cosa is a small unassuming restaurant based on Castle Street which opened back in 2016. It offers a range of Italian street food and fresh Italian pasta.

Pasta dishes include bolognese, pomodoro, carbonara and pesto.

I ordered from the vegetarian options and decided on the Aglio E Olio which comes with a tomato sauce with chilli, garlic, peppers & onion fried in olive oil. It's quite similar to a rrabiata but spicier. I chose gnocchi pasta.

My partner ordered the arrabiata with chicken and penne pasta and we shared a garlic bread.

Delivery was around an hour, although it did add an extra ten minutes on to the original schedule delivery time, but it wasn't an issue.

The food was piping hot when it arrived, and the portion sizes were massive - I couldn't finish all of my pasta.

My partner, who is typically a very fussy eater, really enjoyed his too. The pasta tasted fresh and each of our dishes were packed with flavour too.

I would definitely order from there again, the menu is extensive with something for people of all tastes to enjoy.
