There may still be three months until Christmas but Showcase Cinemas is planning on getting the festive celebrations started early.
In October, the Showcase on the East Lancs Road is hosting a Christmas movie day for people who just can’t wait to get into the sprit.
Visitors to the cinema will be able to watch four Christmas films on the big screen, on Saturday, October 23. The schedule includes family favourites and old time classics, meaning there will be something for everyone.

The day begins with an 11am screening of Polar Express, starring Tom Hanks. This is followed by Kevin McCallister giving those two bungling burglars a run for their money in Home Alone at 1.40pm.
Later in the afternoon people can enjoy It’s A Wonderful Life at 4.20pm and any Christmas movie day wouldn’t be complete without watching Elf, which wraps up the special event at 7.30pm.
People can watch each of the films for £5 a ticket, meaning festive fans can enjoy a Christmas movie marathon for £20.
