Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo completes Cardiff City move despite Nottingham Forest interest

Liverpool Sheji Ojo has wrapped up a move to Cardiff City despite Nottingham Forest showing an interest in the winger.

Ojo was unveiled by the Bluebirds today and says he has much to prove as he became the club's third summer signing.

Forest were linked heavily with the Liverpool wideman, but Cardiff boss Neil Harris convinced him to move to Wales.

And speaking for the first time since putting pen to paper, he says he is ready for the challenge of leading a promotion push.

"I’ve got a point to prove and I’m really excited for the new challenge," he told the club website.

"Cardiff City is a massive club with great fans and great players – hopefully I can show what I can do here and fit right in.

"Wherever the ball is, I want to be involved in the game as much as possible.

"I’m delighted to get here in time for a full week’s training with the team ahead of the first home game this Saturday. Now it’s important that we start right."

Ojo has spent the majority of his career on loan away from Anfield, having gained Championship experience from loan spells with Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham.

The former England youth international most recently spent last season in Scotland with Rangers, scoring five goals for Steven Gerrard's side.
