Liverpool's Roberto Firmino on what he thinks about his song and Man City warning

Liverpool fans' favourite Roberto Firmino has given his personal seal of approval to the personal ditty given to him by the Kop.

“Si Senor!” has become a popular chant at Reds games and although it should strictly be “Sim Senhor” in the Brazilian's native Portuguese language rather than Spanish, Firmino still appreciates the gesture from supporters.

The lyrics go: “There’s something that the Kop want you to know,

“The best in the world his name is Bobby Firmino,

“Our number nine,

“Give him the ball and he’ll score every time,

“Si senor,

“Give the ball to Bobby and he will score.”

Speaking to ESPN Brasilvia Sport Witness – Firmino said: “It’s cool. The rhythm of the song is a little Latin, a little La Bombonera. It is very motivating.

“For those on the pitch, it’s good to hear the fans singing their name, their music. It motivates us to do our best on the pitch and help the team.”

Firmino is well-known for his easy-going nature and with both manager Jurgen Klopp and fellow forward Sadio Mane commenting on his smile, Firmino declared himself Liverpool's top grinner.

He said: “Among all of them mine is the best.

“But I am happy that they do not copy it, but they also want to have a smile like that.

“I’m glad. I hope it grows more and more, that people will be happier if they depend on the smile. And that’s it.”

As for this Sunday's top-of-the-table clash with Manchester City, although leaders Liverpool go into the fixture with a six-point lead over their visitors, Firmino reckons the Reds cannot afford to get beat.

He said: “It’s a game of two huge clubs that are fighting for the top.

“We can’t lose, it’s a six point game. We have to be careful and do our best.”
