Liverpool’s radio announcers had the best reaction to wild Champions League comeback

This week’s UEFA Champions League semifinals both saw a pair of historic comebacks from Premier League sides. On Wednesday, Tottenham scored three unanswered away goals in the second half to beat Ajax. On Tuesday, Liverpool overcame a 3-0 aggregate deficit to stun Barcelona at Anfield.

Liverpool, of course, scored the go-ahead goal on a heads-up decision from Trent Alexander-Arnold to take the corner quickly.

The goal sent Anfield into a frenzy, but the best reaction came from the press box. Liverpool radio commentators Steve Hunter and John Aldridge were on video for LFCTV, and their reaction to each goal was so, so good.

Just wait until Divock Origi’s winner.

That right there is exactly why sports are great, and it only begins to sum up just how astonishing Liverpool’s comeback was on Tuesday.

Aldridge wasn’t saying sorry for his reaction at all.

Nor should he.

Liverpool will face Tottenham in the Champions League Final on June 1 in Madrid.
