Liverpool’s queer comedy night back is "by popular demand" this Valentine's weekend.
Lush’s safe space event is returning this Saturday, February 11, with three headline acts who promise to leave “your face aching but wanting more”. Hosted by local comedian Eddie Fortune, the show will feature drag queen Brenda La Beau, Alex Stringer and Molly McGuiness - all of whom will be supported by up-and-coming star Adam Rohan.
Guests will be served prosecco and beer throughout the three-hour-long event, whilst the entertainers “keep it queer”.

Matt Reynolds, member of Lush Liverpool’s management team, told the ECHO: “After a sell-out success evening back in December, our queer comedy night is back by popular demand. It’s always been our mission to create memorable experiences in a safe space that builds a community on the high street. This evening provides a platform and voice for local & professional LGBTQ+ comedians in Merseyside, that’ll lift the room and leave your face hurting from laughter. All are always welcome.”
Doors open at 7 pm and it finishes at 10 pm latest. The event is strictly for those 18 and over as it does include adult comedy.
Eddie Fortune, from his sell-out show Karen and Crissy Rock tour support, added: “Me being a queer artist on the often straight-dominated circuit is important because I get to be my authentic self in front of a room full of strangers. Something I never had growing up while being persecuted while in education.
“It feels like I’m making 15-year-old me who was scared, lost, bullied and vilified with a hidden identity, proud. I love being gay. And that’s all there is to it. Sharing my stories with a broadly straight audience is emancipating. We all understand love and triumph, trials and tribulations. We all have the same problems. Comedy helps me share this.”
The event is at LUSH Liverpool Spa, 38 - 46 Church Street Liverpool, L1 3AW
