Liverpool's Premier League title odds shorten despite Manchester City's victory

Liverpool and Manchester City continue to match each other stride for stride in pursuit of the Premier League title.

Pep Guardiola’s side overcame a potentially tricky trip to tackle Crystal Palace by leaving Selhurst Park with a 3-1 victory, with the Reds following that up by seeing off Chelsea at Anfield with a 2-0 win.

The results on Sunday mean that Jurgen Klopp’s side remain at the top of the table with just four games to play, although City still have fate in their own hands as they have a game in hand.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp criticised again as he's told he can't take credit for Jordan Henderson revival

City’s clash is none other than a huge derby with Manchester United and, despite securing all three points in their game, Guardiola’s side saw their odds of defending the Premier League title drift after Sunday’s action.

According to OddsChecker, City remain favourites to lift the Premier League but are now tipped at 5/7 as their chances drifted following Liverpool’s impressive triumph over Chelsea.

The one incident proves Naby Keita's growing importance to Liverpool's title charge

The Reds, meanwhile, are now priced at evens to end a 29-year wait for a league title and will be full of confidence heading into their remaining matches.

Their chances look good as their next two games see Klopp’s side tackle relegation-threatened Cardiff City and a Huddersfield Town side who are guaranteed to be playing in the Championship next season.
