Liverpool's pre-season opponents take an unusual approach to training

Bradford City team members have taken a rather unusual approach to pre-season training of taking on Liverpool this weekend.

The squad visited Challenge4Gym obstacle course in Manchester to prepare for the games ahead.

The West Yorkshire club host the Reds on Sunday afternoon at their Northern Commercials Stadium and manager Gary Bowyer is hoping a change of scenery will give them an advantage.

Bowyer said: "We’ve brought 10 new players in and we’re trying to get them to gel.

"We’re taking them out of their comfort zones and that’s when we’ll learn the most about them."

Gary added that the exercise will also help build trust within the team.

He said: "It’s important throughout the course of the season that they can rely on each other and trust each other because it’s a competitive league that we’re in."

Striker Eoin Doyle said: "I enjoy this more than running around football pitches.

"It’s been good, it’s been tough, it obviously gets you thinking and physical it’s tough as well."

We'll soon found out whether it will help their chances against the Reds, who arrive in high spirits after starting pre-season with a bang following a 6-0 win at Tranmere last night.
