Liverpool suffered their third Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon as Taiwo Awoniyi's second half strike was enough to seal all three points for Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Despite not playing at the levels close to their awe-inspiring best, the Reds had enough chances to win the game through Virgil van Dijk - who should have found the back of the net at least once.
For Jurgen Klopp's side, it sees them take another two steps back and fail to build on their impressive wins against Manchester City and West Ham United in the last seven days. Additionally, after Chelsea drew to Brentford in midweek and host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge later this evening, it was a huge opportunity missed for Liverpool to narrow the gap on the fourth and final Champions League spot in the table.
