Liverpool's newly refurbished exhibition with Jodie Comer's Killing Eve outfit and Cillian Murphey's Peaky Blinders cap

A newly refurbished exhibition at one of Liverpool's museums celebrates the city's 'staggering roll call of trailblazing entertainers, musicians, sports people, poets, artists and comedians.'

The Wondrous Place gallery, part of the Museum of Liverpool, showcases the city's internationally recognised creative expression and influence through its exciting new displays and immersive experience.

A new stage and screen display shows the city as a film set and how it continues to provide an impressive backdrop to some of Hollywood's biggest movies as well as award-winning TV Shows.

Guests can soak in all the glory of one of Villanelle's costumes from Killing Eve which was worn by Liverpool actress Jodie Comer along with an authentic Peaky Blinders cap worn by Cillian Murphy.

Other items on display include iconic Beatles suits, Garry Christian's famous hat and sunglasses, a dreamy Lita Roza dress, Spice Girl Mel C's stage costume, Bill Shankly's overcoat and a signed LFC shirt which was presented to Hillsborough survivor, Stephen Williams.

According to the online website, the museum has also brought Liverpool's incredible sporting legacy up to date with new key items available for guests to see.

This ranges from the running shoes worn by 2019 World Champion heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Natasha Jonas’s Team GB boxing shorts.

Visitors will also get an insight into the region’s gaming industry and a chance to play some of the titles created in the region.

The gallery reportedly also explores lesser-known cultural creators; the writers, producers and performers of Merseyside that have helped craft the city’s sense of place in the world, how it and its people are seen.

The National Museum of Liverpool opens daily from 10am-5pm.
