Liverpool's newest Chinese restaurant is serving incredible salt & pepper chicken

Liverpool’s newest Chinese restaurant is open and serving up some of the best salt and pepper chicken around.

Chopstix Noodle Bar, which was previously based at St Johns Shopping Centre and has more than 60 venues across the UK, has launched on Lord Street.

With restaurants and bars now open across the city, there’s no shortage of places to order a takeaway from when you need it.

The new Lord Street location is offering delivery via Deliveroo - and it’s serving up crispy salt & pepper chicken that is some of the best around.

What did we order?

Bucket of spring rolls from Chopstix (Liverpool Echo)

The menu is small but specific and when there’s salt and pepper chicken on the menu, it’s a must.

The restaurant specialises in fresh Pan Asian meals, including Katsu Curry, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Teriyaki Beef.

The menu also includes sides such as Spring Rolls, Salt and Pepper Potatoes and Sticky Asian Wings

We ordered two portions of the Golden Salt & Pepper Chicken with boiled rice (£7.50) and a bucket of Spring Rolls (£5).

How long was the wait?

Despite initially being quoted 20 - 25 minutes, there was a mishap with our Deliveroo driver, meaning the order had to be resubmitted.

The restaurant was quick to contact us with the issue and the second order arrived quickly.

What was the food like?

The food arrived still steaming hot and in sealed plastic containers, which separated the food efficiently.

The Salt & Pepper box came with the chicken on top, with a separate section for a large portion of rice beneath.

The bucket of Spring Rolls, which held around 15, was still very hot too.

While the rice was somewhat dry and would definitely have benefitted from sauce (which was not an option when ordering), the chicken was crispy and filled with flavoursome.

The Golden Salt & Pepper chicken rivals some of the best in the city, and the Spring Rolls are the best I’ve had for a long time.

We’ll definitely be ordering again.
