Natasha Jonas has broken new ground by becoming the first woman ever to win the British Boxing Board of Control's British Boxer of the Year Award.
The achievement recognises the Liverpool fighter's incredible rise to prominence after a successful 2022 and by landing the prestigious award, the 38-year-old is following in the footsteps of a list of headline previous winners, including Lennox Lewis, Barry McGuigan, Nigel Benn, Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton and Anthony Joshua.
But the Toxteth-born competitor has smashed through another barrier in her career by becoming the first woman in history to clinch the award for the best boxer of the year at any weight in the country.

Jonas is no stranger to setting standards in Boxing, having become the first British woman to qualify for an Olympic Games 10 years ago. But last year, she jumped up three weight classes and won the WBO super-welterweight title in her maiden fight, knocking out Chris Namus.
She would go one better in her next contest, unifying the world championships by taking the WBC crown off Patricia Berghult - a competitor 10 years her junior.
Not content with two belts, Jonas completed a treble by claiming the IBF title with a points victory against two-time world champion Marie-Eve Dicaire, completing a remarkable year.
Speaking about her BBBoC success, Jonas said: "You're forever in the history books. I just took the opportunities last year when they came and things worked out for me, and obviously I worked hard to make sure they all went my way.
"This is for all the little girls out there. This isn't just 2022. This has been 18 years of hard work and dedicating my life."
