Liverpool have been the team of choice for the producers at Match of the Day this season.
The Premier League champions were first in Match of the Day’s running order 14 times over the course of the 2019/20 campaign.
That’s four more times than the next most popular club, Manchester City, who were the first picks on 10 occasions.
It’s not just down to Liverpool featuring on the show more often, with the Reds being first on 54% of the occasions they featured on Match of the Day compared to City’s 38%.
Liverpool were also the top pick before the season restarted.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were first in the Match of the Day running order 10 times before the season stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Manchester City, meanwhile, had been first eight times.
As a percentage of appearances it was 53% for Liverpool and 42% for City.
At the other end of the scale - across the whole campaign - were Brighton.
Seagulls fans had to wait until the end of the show to see their team 11 times this season.
That’s compared to 10 times for Norwich, eight for Watford, and seven for Crystal Palace.
The last spot in the Match of the Day running order was impacted quite a lot by the pandemic.
Watford were last in the running order eight times before lockdown - more often than any other club.
That’s followed by Norwich and Crystal Palace with seven times each and then Brighton with five times.
Newcastle United are the only club not to have been shown first on Match of the Day at all this season.
