Liverpool’s man for the big moment capable of becoming Jurgen Klopp's man for every moment

Scorer in the Merseyside Derby, a brace in the historic 4-0 win over Barcelona to send the Reds to Madrid and then securing number six - Divock Origi last season was a man for the big occasions.

But having started Wednesday night’s 5-2 rout against Everton in the Merseyside Derby this season, is the Belgian now becoming an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s red machine.

Even though he came up with the big moments when it mattered last season, the poise and execution shown at Anfield on Wednesday signifies Origi could now be ready for the next step in his Liverpool career.

Exactly that, and much more, is discussed in the latest Blood Red podcast ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Bournemouth tomorrow afternoon.

Join Joe Rimmer, Paul Gorst, Theo Squires and Dan Kay as they react to the derby win and reflect on Jurgen Klopp’s pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to the Vitality.

On the agenda is Klopp’s thoughts on being the Christmas No.1 in the Premier League before getting onto the importance of Origi and how his derby showing could lead to more opportunities going forward.

With Origi knocking on the door, a player with contrasting fortunes, Naby Keita is also brought into the conversation with rotation seemingly becoming more likely through the congested fixture list.

Before getting onto the usual team selections and match predictions, Harry Wilson’s progress and adaptation to Premier League football is analysed with the Welshman unable to feature against his parent side.
