One of Liverpool’s most popular restaurants is reopening - with a twist - during the coronavirus crisis.
Lunya, which has two venues in Liverpool, is reopening its Hanover Street store this Thursday, May 7.
The site will reopen its deli section for shopping and click and collect, made possible by Lunya’s unique design as part-restaurant, part-deli.
Lunya will have strict social distancing measures in place once it reopens, with only two customers allowed in-store at once and a measured queuing system.
In a note to customers in its newsletter, Lunya owners wrote: “We will be operating with strict social distancing measures, allowing two customers in store at one time, and (if too many people arrive at once!), will have a measured queuing system.
“All of our cheeses, meats and olives will be pre-packed and sealed. Our fresh sourdough bread which we will be back to making will be behind the counter and wrapped, too.
“Plus, we have very enhanced cleaning and sanitising regimes. You can order online, pay and collect on your chosen date, too. Our stock levels are very good, too.
“Plus we will be selling take-away coffees, teas and hot chocolates! Thanks again for your continued love and support. Peter & Elaine Kinsella and team.”
Lunya made headlines in March when owner Peter Kinsella penned a heartbreaking open letter to the Prime Minister, calling out the government’s lack of support for the hospitality industry.
Lunya’s Hanover Street deli will reopen for shopping and click and collect from Thursday, May 8.
