Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wishes Brendan Rodgers luck... 'but he can't take my house!'

Jurgen Klopp jokingly expressed relief that he won’t have to move house after his Liverpool predecessor Brendan Rodgers closed in on a Premier League return with Leicester City.

The Reds boss has rented Rodgers’ former Merseyside home since replacing him at the Anfield helm back in October 2015.

But the Northern Irishman looks set for an imminent return to the English game, with Leicester pushing to make him Claude Puel’s successor at the King Power Stadium.

Klopp was happy to wish Rodgers, who has enjoyed remarkable success at Celtic in the last three years, good luck should he join up with the Foxes.

But the German was mostly delighted that his forerunner won’t be joining Everton any time soon.

He said: “As long as he is not going to Everton then I’m fine, because if it’s Everton then he wants his house back!

“Leicester is not close enough that he will move to Formby!

“What can I say about that? They have to clarify between the clubs, then Brendan and Leicester.

“Probably not an easy situation for Celtic, but if it happens then wherever he goes I wish him obviously luck, because he’s a good guy.”
