Liverpool's 'Indoor Pride' festival line ups for today

Pride events around the world were cancelled this year and last, and Liverpool was no different, with the city's Pride festival originally due to take place this weekend.

But over 40 performers across 13 venues in the city's Pride Quarter are filling that void this Saturday, July 31 as coronavirus restrictions lift, people reconnect and LGBT+ people seek support and solidarity after a series of violent attacks on the community.

The 'Indoor Pride' event in the city centre area is organised in partnership with Merseyside's LGBT+ charity, the Liverpool City Region Pride Foundation.

Mascquerade

The Mascquerade Bar on Cumberland Street will be kicking off with sausage and bacon sandwiches served at an outside bar from midday on Saturday.

Drag queens will be performing here throughout the day, including 'Queen of Cumberland Street' Aunty Marlene, Jodie as Kylie, Carmen Sutra and Daniella Mantrapp.

The inside bar is staying open until 2am.

GBar

GBar is following on from their success last week with a first dance when the clock struck one minute past midnight on Monday, July 19 and a 'Freedom' street party as the heavens cleared that Saturday.

The granddaddy of gay clubs is opening the doors to Eberle Street once again for a ticketed street party from 5pm on Saturday, before the dancing moves inside at 11pm.

Drag queens Minnie Cooper, Violet Pain and Brenda LaBeau will be in the club's iconic Church Room from 9pm to 7am.

GW Harrison, of Amnesia Ibiza fame, and Anton Powers of Kiss FM, are the headline DJs alongside GBar staples Dave Bennett, Andy Mc and Andy Locker.

Superstar Boudoir

Brenda LaBeau will be starring in two venues on Saturday, shining bright in Superstar Boudoir earlier that day.

The Stanley Street venue will open the doors to the basement club from 2pm to 5am with music and one-liners from Brenda as well as fellow queens Amanda Angel, Angelica Watson and Miss Tiara Fletcher.

The Lisbon

Not missing out on the Stanley Street fun, the behemoth of gay bars, The Lisbon will be graced by queen of drag queens, Lady Sian.

Joining her for the event starting at 3pm in this sit-down pub on the corner of Stanley Street and Victoria Street is Defiantly Dolly, DJ Smigger and Jonathan Graham.

Heaven

Across the road, organisers of last month's march against homophobic and transphobic violence, Angel Dewynter and Naya Thorn, are parting from protest to party at Pride in Heaven 'til seven.

The doors of this Victoria street venue open at 4pm on Saturday for you to descend into darkness to be entertained by Athena Barbital, Ava Cassandra, Harlotte, Jade Jackson, Lexi Black, Maraj, and Taz Jones.

On Point

Angel and Naya will also be flying down to the far end of Victoria Street near St John's Garden to perform at 'interactive cocktail venue' On Point, which is open from 2pm to 1am.

They will be joined by Ivy Rose and Xander in this bar where drag queens get discounts and you can order drinks on touch screen tables from the comfort of your booth.

Poste House

Back in the heart of 'gay town' is the Poste House, or 'the Postie', a cosy pub squeezed between modern flats on either side on Cumberland Street.

Drag queen Barbie Pink will be performing at this bar, open from midday to midnight.

Navy Bar, Social and ICON

Just parallel on Stanley Street, Navy's three rooms are in full swing from 2pm to 4am.

There are live acts and resident DJs in the Bar. There are Playstation 4s, Nintendos and a pool table in Social. And all your music icons in ICON.

On Saturday, various drag acts will be joined by DJs Mark Armstrong, Andy Mc, Lee Hardy, Jade Jaxon, Robbie Edwards and Carl Williams

OMG

Around the corner on Victoria Street, you'll be gasping at performers Violet Pain and Angelica Watson in this bar-cum-club.

OMG is open from 2pm to 5am.

Kitty's Showbar

Tucked away on Tithebarn Street, this raindbow-coloured pub opens at midday and closes at 1am.

Host for the night, Canid, will be joined live on stage by Alison D for a tribute to the divas.

Dorothy's Showbar

Owned by the mother company of OMG, this Victoria Street venue is yet to announce their Pride lineup. But they will be open from 10pm on Saturday until 4am.
