Liverpool's hilarious Champions t-shirt shrugs off title criticism

Liverpool are the deserved Premier League champions after a stunning season where they have won an astonishing 28 out of 31 games.

Despite the complete domination of the league and a deserved trophy after a gruelling 30-year wait some rival fans have been quick to dismiss the achievement.

The stop-start nature of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent restart behind closed doors has led some to claim Liverpool's title will always have an astericks next to it.

However, with the club 23 points clear of Manchester City and on a different level to last year's champions it has decided to take a cheeky dig at anybody who question's the clubs title success.

The new range of Champions t-shirts has one not-so-subtle dig at those who criticise - the word Champions actually has an astericks instead on the O. The tongue-in-cheek gesture is a clear message aimed at those who wrongly think the title can be tarnished in any way.

The t-shirt, mug and other memorabilia containing the astericks is on sale now, just hours after Liverpool secured a historic 19th title and the first of the Premier League era.

The t-shirts are priced at £20 and are likely to be a popular choice when fans are finally allowed to gather to celebrate the achievement.

It is not the first time Liverpool fans have made light of other fans criticising the club. After the Champions League win in 2019 fans adopted the 'unbearable' jibe being aimed at them with a number of banners on The Kop now proudly displaying the name.

It seems like once again the club has used a bit of humour to diffuse criticism - and fans are sure to love it.

You can buy the t-shirt here.
