Harvey Elliott has taken the next step in his rehabilitation from the serious ankle injury that halted the promising start to his campaign.
Elliott was on Monday morning running on the outside pitches at the Reds' training complex at Kirkby for the first time since suffering a fracture dislocation of his left ankle and damaged ligaments at Leeds United on September 12.
The 18-year-old subsequently underwent successful surgery before embarking on his recovery back to full fitness.
Elliott has posted regular updates on social media regarding his progress, and last month revealed he was working in the club's gym while also jogging alongside the swimming pool at the training ground.

Now the youngster has started exercises outside while having also been photographed taking part in some ball work inside.
An impressive pre-season had seen Elliott come off the bench in the campaign opener at Norwich before impressing in his first Premier League starts against Burnley, Chelsea and Leeds before injury struck.
While Liverpool have put no timescale on the return of the teenager, there was always confidence Elliott would be back playing again this season.
Elliott is one of several Reds midfielders to have been hampered by injury in recent months.
James Milner and Naby Keita are currently nursing hamstring issues, Curtis Jones is overcoming an eye complaint while Jordan Henderson picked up a minor problem while on England duty last Friday.
