Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott apologises for ‘senseless’ video which appears to mock Tottenham star Harry Kane

Harvey Elliott has apologised for a video which appears to mock Tottenham star and England captain Harry Kane.

The 16-year-old footballer, who joined Liverpool this summer from Fulham , posted a video on Snapchat during the Champions League Final on June 1.

Spurs, and Kane, lost the match 2-0 as Liverpool won their sixth European Cup.

Elliott claims the video was filmed ‘whilst messing around with friends in a private environment’, but the young winger admitted that his actions were both ‘immature and senseless’.

In a statement released on an Instagram story, the teen wrote: "I would just like to wholeheartedly apologise for any offence caused on the back of a video of me currently circulating on the internet."

“The video was taken whilst messing around with friends in a private environment and was not directed at any individual but I realise that my actions were both immature and senseless.

“I would like to stress that the contents of the video do not represent who I am as a person or how I’ve been brought up, and I truly am sorry.”

Elliott holds the record for being the youngest ever Premier League player, having made his debut for Fulham aged 15 years and 174 days.
