Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker appeared to swap the pitch for a plane as he was snapped serving customers on a Ryanair flight - but it wasn't all that it seemed.
Samuel McDermid, 22, got the fright of his life when he thought he saw the Brazilian player on his flight to Portugal.
As a Reds' fan, Samuel was in awe of the bearded man pushing a trolley down the aisle of the budget carrier.
Speaking to the ECHO , Samuel said: "Initially I thought I knew him, but I couldn't place where - maybe from a previous flight?
"Then I was checking Twitter and the LFC fan page with a photo of Alisson and then suddenly it just hit me and I couldn’t stop thinking it was him."
However, Samuel said it was the steward's higher pitched voice that gave away his real identity.
Alisson, who has been absent from the Reds' pre-season tour, was afforded an extended break due to his international commitments in Brazil.
But earlier this week, Jürgen Klopp confirmed he will be back for the training camp in south-east France.
The manager told Liverpoolfc.com in Indiana on Wednesday: “Mo and the Brazilians will come for Evian."
With Alisson's return date scheduled for next week, the 26-year-old has enjoyed away with his family.
The happy family are currently visiting Villasimius, a coastal town in southeast Sardinia.
