Liverpool's former Next store is to be "transformed" after a contractor was appointed to lead an "exciting new development" at the city centre site.
The Momentum Group has been appointed by real estate investment managers Redevco to deliver the programme of works at the Church Street building.
According to the group, which provides construction, management and maintenance solutions, the 100,000 sq ft site will be reconfigured - to "enhance its attraction to a wider range of potential occupiers".
The retail giant closed the huge unit earlier this year to move to its new flagship city store, and property owners Redevco invited tenders from a number of contractors earlier this year.
The contract was awarded to The Momentum Group "due to their experience in maximising value in city centre retail premises and their ability to deliver the project on behalf of the client to a demanding programme".
Speaking for Redevco, portfolio director, Andrew Foulds said: ‘We received a number of high-quality tenders for this project but felt the Momentum Group offered the best all round service and value for money to meet our requirements.
