A restaurant entrepreneur is set to open Liverpool's "first speciality pasta shop" in the city next week, offering customers 'savoury cornettos'.
Attilio Sergi, who runs the Trattoria 51 restaurants on Old Hall Street and in Southport, is to open his new Pasta 51 Express fast food offering on Whitechapel.
The restaurant will offer delivery, eat-in and takeaway, with the fresh pasta-based meals ready in "just under four minutes".
He said he now wants to open further units across the city.
One of Mr Sergi's main offerings will be pasta in a cone - or a 'savoury cornetto'.
He said: "This is just the next step in the street food explosion that’s been expanding across the country.
"We all live in a fast-paced world with few of us having the time to spare and enjoy a meal in a restaurant.
"Fast food although quick, does not offer the quality many of us demand.
"Pasta 51 Express solves this problem by offering customers high quality, freshly made pasta dishes, served in a quick and convenient cone, making it ideal to eat on the go."
A spokeswoman for the firm said the Pasta 51 Express opening in Liverpool will be the "first of many" - promising to bring "convenient, healthy Italian street food and employment".
