Liverpool's exciting next generation of talent as five youngsters stand out

Liverpool's most successful teams of all time have almost always included local talent.

From Phil Thompson to Steven Gerrard and Trent Alexander-Arnold, academy stars have fulfilled their potential at Anfield to help the club lift the biggest prizes.

And while some youngsters don't quite make it to Liverpool's first team, others are earmarked from an early age to be the exciting stars of the future.

Ben Doak is one such player. A young winger, the Scot was signed from Celtic in 2022 and has immediately established himself as one of Liverpool's best young stars. He is expected to make more progress in 2023/24.

Meanwhile, Kaide Gordon's own progress stalled after a number of difficult injuries but the teenager, who was pursued by Manchester United before he signed for £3m from Derby, is very highly rated and desperate to make up for lost time.

Stefan Bajcetic enjoyed a breakthrough year at Anfield, impressing in the heart of Liverpool's midfield as his team-mates struggled for fitness ands form, while Conor Bradley impressed out on loan at Bolton and will be keen to establish himself as back up to Alexander-Arnold.

Bobby Clark, son of Newcastle legend Lee, is another young player who made great strides last season.
