Liverpool's Easter bank holiday weekend forecast to be hotter than Barcelona

Merseyside is forecast to bask in temperatures hotter than BARCELONA over the Easter bank holiday weekend .

With Easter falling so late this year, there was always a good chance there would be some fine weather over the extended bank holiday - and there are promising signs that's what will happen.

While Barcelona is forecast to have temperatures of 17C, the Merseyside region could go one better at 18C.

The Met Office forecast is for dry weather on Good Friday, with warm sunny spells.

But they add a warning that the cloudiest areas are likely to be in the north-west, where it will be a little cooler.

The rest of the Easter weekend is looking to be mainly dry and warm, though there is still some uncertainty in the forecast as to how cloudy it will be, and whether there may be some rain in north-western parts of the UK.
