Liverpool's Christmas food phobias unveiled

Christmas is a time for eating, drinking and being merry with our friends and family.

There's an array of food on offer, but some festive fare leaves people reeling.

The ECHO shared a "festive fussy eater bingo" card and asked readers to comment on what they wouldn't eat or drink and the results saw hundreds of people choose the same items.

Nut Roast, blue cheese and eggnog were the most hated food and drinks at Christmas.

Patricia Paddock said: "I hate blue cheese, it smells like sweaty socks.”

Maureen Oldhan said: “Blue cheese and nut roast.”

Mulled wine also didn't impress many as Sarah Pollard said: "I’d have everything, apart from Mulled wine, it’s the Devil’s armpit strainings."

Others had a huge list of food they didn't enjoy.

Wendy Davies said: "Parsnips, eggnog, blue cheese, red cabbage, carrots, turkey, cranberry sauce, pigs in blankets, mulled wine.”

Kirsty May Gallwey said: “Errr.... 10 , eggnog, Christmas pudding, Pigs n blankets, Yule log, Blue cheese, Cranberry sauce, Nut roast, Red cabbage, Mince pie, Mulled wine.”

But some people embraced the festive food completely.

June Fagan said: “I would eat every single one.”

Sinead Neagh Moran said: "I love them all, lol."

And Angela Green said: “I could eat or drink all of them, some not so keen on, but none of them make me shudder.”
