Liverpool's chance of completing Timo Werner transfer outlined

Liverpool are in pole position to land the signature of rumoured target Timo Werner according to reports in Germany.

The RB Leipzig striker has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent months and it is suggested the Reds are leading the race for the 24-year-old.

In a poll published by German publication BILD, as cited here, Liverpool are said to boast a 65 per cent chance of signing Werner.

This compares with Bayern Munich who are said to have a 15 per cent chance of landing the Bundesliga proven talent.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid boast a 10 per cent likelihood of acquiring the forward, with Liverpool's Premier League rivals Chelsea given a rating of just five per cent.

Earlier this year, Werner sparked speculation linking him with the Reds as he said: "There’s one of the best managers in the world with Jurgen Klopp, and he is also German.

"Many things suggest that I would maybe fit in [at Liverpool] very well with my playing style."

Before football's suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic, Werner had scored a total of 27 times in 36 outings in all competitions.
