Liverpool's Cavern Club appearance for Co Down band Dea Matrona

They've already made an impact in Belfast, with one video of them busking in the city going viral and clocking up a phenomenal 565,000 views on Facebook.

Now Dea Matrona have just wrapped up after a three-day stint at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club, the venue that propelled the Beatles to fame.

The group, sisters Mollie and Mamie McGinn and pal Orlaith Forsythe, were invited to the classic club after a cover of Beatles hit song Daytripper went viral on Music Crown’s Facebook page, reaching 427,000 views.

The video was filmed on the rooftop of the Oh Yeah Centre in Belfast.

During their trip to Liverpool, the band played six gigs across the city including The Cavern Club, The Cavern Pub and The Cavern Live Lounge, each to a packed-out audience.

“It was such an amazing experience going from busking Beatles songs on the streets of Belfast to playing in The Cavern Club where the Beatles were discovered,” said Mollie.

“We’ve got a few Belfast gigs coming up including supporting John Corabi in the Limelight this December and headline gigs in The American Bar and Love & Death.”

Mollie, 20, and 19-year-old Orlaith both sing and share guitar and bass duties, while Mamie, 16, plays the drums.

"We do lots of covers, but we've written a lot of our own stuff too," added Mollie, from Carryduff.

"We did music at school but when it ended Orlaith and I just wanted to really give it a go with the band and see how it could work out.

"Mamie's still at school. We all went to Assumption Grammar in Ballynahinch. Our parents have been really supportive and it's going well so far. We've released some of our own stuff already, and got a lot of radio play with our song, Siren Song."
