Liverpool's best World Book Day costumes from last year

World Book Day is just days away and if your child still hasn't decided who they want to be then you've got a frantic search for a costume on your hands.

If you need some ideas and inspiration it might be helpful to have a look through some of last year's costumes.

Parents across Merseyside went all out and delivered up some amazing outfits based on their kid's favourite book characters.

There were even some more unusual choices from Theresa May and Mrs Hinch to Donald Trump and Amy Winehouse.

Here's some pictures of last year's costumes that were sent into us to get you started.

This year, World Book Day is on Thursday, March 7, so there's still time to rustle up a costume whether it's a last-minute dash to the supermarket or if you can cobble something together from what's handy at home.

Along with the day of dressing in costumes, World Book Day together with National Book Tokens encourage children to get involved with reading and this year more than 15 million £1 World Book Day book tokens will be given out to children and young people.

You can swap the book token for one of 15 exclusive, new and completely FREE World Book Day books or you can use your book token to get   £1 off any full price book or audiobook instead.

This year's £1 books include Bing's Splashy Story, Amelia Fang and the Bookworm Gang and The Day We Met the Queen.
