Liverpool's Andy Robertson sends message to Bayern Munich star after Barcelona demolition

Bayern Munich demolished Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final last night and one Liverpool star was watching on, enjoying what he saw.

Former Liverpool star Phillipe Coutinho scored twice and assisted another coming off the bench in an 8-2 rout, which saw the La Liga club hit rock bottom and complete a hat-trick of successive Champions League disappointments in recent seasons.

It follows the Catalans being stunned by Roma in 2018 after a 3-0 second leg defeat knocked them out on away goals and last season's sensational semi-final comeback when Jurgen Klopp's men overturned a 3-0 first leg loss to win 4-3 on aggregate following an unforgettable night at Anfield.

It would be difficult to pick just one of the goals scored by the German side as a favourite but Liverpool defender Andy Robertson clearly had a favourite in one of them - which was created by Canadian Alphonso Davies.

The left back shared a simple message to his fellow attacking minded full back as he tweeted three emojis along with the replay of the exceptionally worked goal.

Davies ran down the flank and managed to wriggle his way past Nelson Semedo before continuing his gallop into the box. His movement seemed to terrify usually assured Gerard Pique who completely backed off the Bayern man, leaving him able to pick out the onrushing Kimmich with a perfectly weighted pass.

It was a sublimely worked goal and Robertson quote tweeted the replay with a shocked face, clapping hands and fire emojis.

The Scotland international and current holder of the Champions League with Liverpool clearly recognised the quality on show, as of course, he knows from experience what it is like to humble a Barcelona side.

Eyes of Liverpool players and fans will continue on the Bundesliga giants as they await either Lyon or Manchester City in the semi-final in what could be a spectacular tie for the neutral.
