Liverpool's Andy Robertson provides injury update ahead of Champions League final

Andy Robertson insists he will be fit for the Champions League final after playing through the pain barrier in Liverpool's final day victory over Wolves .

The Reds ended their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 success over Wolves at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has handed his players some time off to rest ahead of the Champions League final against Tottenham in Madrid on June 1.

Robertson picked up a calf problem in the win over Barcelona in the semi-final but managed to take to the field against Wolves.

But he insists he will be ready to go in the final and believes the short break will prove beneficial to Klopp's squad.

How Liverpool could line up next season if Jurgen Klopp completes two transfers

“It wasn’t the best on Sunday and I could feel it during the game, but I wanted to play and was desperate to get out there,” Robertson said.

“The adrenaline kept me going and the fact a lot of us have played through pain, not just me.

"Luckily now we’ve got a couple of weeks to recover and get our bodies right – and we’ll know we’ll be as fresh as we can be going into the final.

Champions League final referee confirmed ahead of Liverpool vs Tottenham clash

“It’s so important, being able to switch off and spend some time with your family, just trying to forget about football because it is an intense period of time,” the defender told Liverpoolfc.com.

“If you can even switch off for two or three days then it’s perfect. I am sure in the back of our minds all of us will have the final, you can’t help that, but we’ll try and switch off as best we can and then we’ll go full steam ahead into the next couple of weeks.”
