Liverpool's Aloha bar to make huge comeback one year after sudden closure

The team behind Liverpool's Aloha bar has confirmed it is returning, although things won't be exactly the same as before.

Aloha, which was based on Colquitt Street, closed its doors suddenly in June 2019 after nine years in the city.

The closure shocked many, with the bar having been known for its lively bar staff, strong drinks and incredible nights out.

However, after beginning to tease its big news last night when its Facebook page was updated, its team took to its Instagram today to confirm exactly what fans can look forward to.

The post said: “Times like these call for tiki, for Hawaiian shirts, for Pina Coladas in pineapples. They call for zombies, they call for limbos, the call for (socially distant) conga lines. They call for Aloha.

“We’re back (for a short while anyway)”.

The post revealed the coronavirus pandemic had given the team the time to "rethink" and they found that "these are the times the tiki bar was made for".

Aloha will be back for a short while, though there will be a few changes in place.

The post continued: "We won’t be exactly the same (we’ve moved house for a start), and we’ll be working around COVID restrictions so it may take us a while to settle into things.

"It was only a recent decision, so we won’t be fully dressed in full tiki rig out. But we will be full of Aloha spirit, and full of rum. Oh, and OUTDOOR SEATING!

"So there you go. Aloha is back. Now complete with sunshine*

"*when available."

The bar will reopen in a new location, which has yet to be confirmed, which is only to be expected since arcade bar NQ64 moved into the Colquitt Street site last August.

We will bring your further updates on the reopening when we receive them.
