Liverpool's Alberto Moreno in tears before Champions League final during minute's silence for Arsenal star

Alberto Moreno was spotted in the Liverpool dugout in tears before the Champions League final tonight.

Both LFC and Tottenham were observing a minute's silence for former Arsenal star, Jose Antonio Reyes, who died in a car crash .

Moreno played with his fellow Spaniard, who was aged 35, during his time with Sevilla.

The pair won the Europa League together in 2014, beating Benfica on penalties.

Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente was also seen emotional on the sidelines.

Sevilla confirmed the tragic news in a statement earlier today.

Posting on Twitter, the club's official account said: "We couldn't be confirming worse news.

"Beloved Sevilla star José Antonio Reyes has died in a traffic collision. Rest in peace."

Alberto Moreno posted an emotional tribute to his friend.

He said: "Impossible. I can't believe it yet. So many moments together, so many laughs.

"Rest in peace brother. I love you. Always in my heart."

And former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez sent out a heartfelt tribute on Twitter.

Reyes spent three seasons at Arsenal between 2004 and 2007 and also enjoyed spells with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Espanyol.

He won 21 caps for Spain and was playing for Extremadura last term.

The Spaniard made his debut for Sevilla at the age of 16 after coming through the ranks before joining Arsenal in 2004.

He would later return to his boyhood club in 2012, winning the Europa League on three separate occasions.

Reyes also won the tournament twice at Atletico Madrid, making him the most-successful player in the history of the competition.
