Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon 2021: route map, date and how to register

The Rock n Roll Marathon is returning to Liverpool at the end of this month.

The highly anticipated event takes places annually but was postponed last year due to the pandemic.

However, on October 23-24, thousands of runners in fancy dress are set to take on the challenge of anything between one mile to a 42k run.

If you are braving the marathon, it will begin at 10am on the Sunday. To get you hyped up beforehand there will be a post-race concert.

Starting at the Royal Albert Dock, participants will have a time limit of six hours to pass by some of the city's most iconic buildings, music, sporting and cultural landmarks in what the organisers describe as an "all-inclusive tour of the city."

The course includes the famous Liver Building, the Beatles statue, Goodison Park Stadium, Penny Lane, and the Chinese Arch before the home straight on the promenade alongside the River Mersey, finishing at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool.

As always, there are courses of various distances being run, so there’s a race for everyone over the weekend.

Regardless of the distance, participants will receive a unique medal.

In addition to this year's finisher medals, runners who participate in both the Saturday 5K and one of the Sunday races will receive a third medal – the Remix Challenge Medal.

There's still time to register and everyone who does finish will receive a free beer at the Finish Line Festival as well as admission to the festival.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the marathon.
