Liverpool restaurant to host virtual dinner party as venues close

A Liverpool restaurant is hosting a huge dinner party this week - which you attend from home.

Popular Liverpool restaurant Lunya, which has venues on Hanover Street and the Royal Albert Dock, will host a neighbourhood dinner party for those missing out on eating at their favourite restaurant - and it will all be held online.

A first for many, the virtual dining experience will allow those missing out in this time of social distancing and self isolation some much-needed company.

Held via Zoom, a free video conferencing app, Lunya is encouraging people to take part by ordering an Engage Paella from its website, using the password ‘engage’, before 2pm on Wednesday, March 25.

Once your food arrives, store it in the fridge until the virtual dinner party begins at 6pm.

Lunya hopes to make the event a weekly series, allowing people from around the city to meet new friends, while enjoying a delicious meal together.

Peter Kinsella, co-owner of Lunya, who wrote a heartbreaking open letter to the Prime Minister last week, will be cooking a huge paella for those taking part, which can be delivered to customers in L1 and L3.

You can take part and order your Engage Paella here.
