A Liverpool restaurant has been awarded Mereyside’s only Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2020.
Pilgrim, which is based at Duke Street Market , has been awarded the accolade today as Michelin announces its winners for 2020.
The restaurant, known for appearing on BBC2’s My Million Pound Menu, is inspired by the Spanish Camino De Santiago Pilgrimage and is the only restaurant in Merseyside to be acknowledged in the prestigious guide.
Michelin’s Bib Gourmand Guide recognises the best restaurants across the UK for good quality and good value as assessed by Michelin inspectors.
Pilgrim serves an ever changing á la carte menu of peak-season vegetables, as well as sustainably sourced meat and fish, all cooked over wood charcoal on a huge centrepiece live-fire hearth.
Jamie Duffield, co-founder of Pilgrim, said: “We’re all absolutely delighted to have been recognised in Michelin’s Bib Gourmand Awards and to be part of the 2020 guide and have our hard work recognised is just amazing.
“We’re all so passionate about the quality of our ingredients and ensure we handle each and every one of them with care so that our dishes deliver on flavour.
“We’ve introduced an affordable lunchtime menu along with our whole beast Sunday roasts, and there is of course our A La Carte and tasting menus, ensuring we have something for everyone.”
