Liverpool reject Swansea City's loan offer for Harry Wilson amid Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Cardiff City interest - reports

Liverpool have rejected Swansea City's loan offer for Harry Wilson, according to reports.

The Swans are keen to add to their attacking options ahead of Friday's 5pm transfer deadline.

They have identified Wales international Wilson as a target, with the Reds now willing to let the 23-year-old leave Anfield on a temporary basis.

They had previously been keen to offload Wilson permanently, with Burnley looking like being potential suitors earlier on in the window.

However, Sean Dyche's men refused to cough up Liverpool's £20m asking price for the versatile attacker.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp's men are willing to let him leave on loan this week, with Swansea City, Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest and his former club Derby County among those touted with a swoop for the 19-cap Wales ace.

Swansea had been the front runners to secure the services of the wideman, although it's suggested the Merseysiders would want a loan fee of around £1m.

And Swansea's initial approach has been knocked back by the reigning Premier League champions, according to The Athletic.

Swansea had hoped that Rhian Brewster's successful loan stint at the club last season would help sway Liverpool's decision in their favour when it came to determining where Wilson's future lies.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Swans have the finances required to make a fresh approach for the Welshman.

Wilson is currently away on international duty with Wales who take on Bulgaria in the Nations League tonight.
