Liverpool reduce ticket prices for Shewsbury replay after Jurgen Klopp promises to play the kids

Liverpool have announced heavily reduced ticket prices for next week's FA Cup fourth-round replay with Shrewsbury Town.

The Reds face a rematch with Sam Ricketts' side after surrendering a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at New Meadow on Sunday.

Speaking at full-time, Jurgen Klopp controversially confirmed that he will not take charge of the replay, which falls in the middle of the Premier League's new winter break .

Instead, he and his first-team squad will take a week's break from training, while a side comprised of academy youngsters and managed by U23s boss Neil Critchley face the Shrews.

Klopp's declaration prompted calls from supporters for ticket prices to be reduced in light of the second-string team that will take the field.

The Merseyside club have since been locked in discussion with both fan groups and Shrewsbury Town, who are entitled to a share of the ticket revenue as per FA rules.

And they have today confirmed a pricing point that will see adults charged £15, young adults £5 and kids £1 for entry.

A date for next week's match is still yet to be announced.
