Rodgers make festive schedule claim

Brendan Rodgers has hit out at the current Premier League schedule ahead of Leicester City's clash against Liverpool on Tuesday night.

The Foxes played on Boxing Day in a dramatic 6-3 defeat to league leaders Manchester City and had a 48-hour turnaround to play Jurgen Klopp's side.

The Reds were somewhat fortunate that their game against Leeds United on December 26 was called off due to a Covid outbreak, allowing for an extra period of rest.

Rodgers spoke in his pre-match press conference about the 'ridiculous schedule' players are currently forced to play.

Klopp delivers squad update

Just as Liverpool get players back from Covid and injury, they lose someone one else.

Ahead of the league fixture against Leicester on Tuesday, Klopp confirmed that the Reds will be getting Thiago back.

The midfielder joins Virgil van Dijk, Curtis Jones and Fabinho in training which is a major boost to the first team.

But in not so good news, Klopp confirmed that a youth player has tested positive for Covid,
