Liverpool receive key Sadio Mane injury boost

Sadio Mane has returned to Liverpool training ahead of the club's fixture against Norwich on Saturday.

The Senegalese forward has been missing since January 23 when he suffered a hamstring problem in the 2-1 victory over Wolves.

Liverpool have played four games in his absence, winning three and drawing one.

One of those fixtures - the FA Cup replay vs Shrewsbury - came during the Reds' winter break, in which the club fielded a much weaker side.

Jurgen Klopp was adamant his first team stars got the break they deserved with many jetting off on holiday shortly after Liverpool's 4-0 win over Southampton.

But Mane stayed behind, undergoing rehabilitation for his injury and working on his comeback.

The 27-year-old, who has been in prolific form this season scoring 15 goals in 31 appearances, could make his comeback against Norwich this weekend.

But it wouldn't be a surprise to see the forward rested with Liverpool's Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid just three days later.

Klopp's side travel to Madrid first before playing the return leg at Anfield on March 11.

Milner is also closing in a return to full fitness. The usually reliable 34-year-old has been suffering with a hamstring issue.

Liverpool returned to training on Monday following their winter break.
