Liverpool pubs and restaurants that got social distancing just right according to customers

Customers across Liverpool have named their favourite bars and restaurants that got social distancing spot on.

Since lockdown restrictions began to lift and venues were allowed to reopen, some of our favourite places have been drastically changed in order to adhere to the Government’s "Covid secure" guidelines.

While things aren’t quite as they were, many places have quickly adapted to the "new normal", and their punters are praising them for it.

We asked ECHO readers to name the bars and restaurants across Merseyside getting social distancing perfect, and here’s what you said:

Lu Ban

Authentic Chinese restaurant Lu Ban, based in Cains Brewery Village, is one restaurant ECHO readers say has gotten social distancing spot on.

Since reopening following the coronavirus lockdown, Lu Ban has introduced new "house rules" involving social distancing, hand sanitising, more space between tables, less visits from servers and table service.

London Carriage Works

Hope Street restaurant The London Carriage Works has installed a range of new social distancing measures, with a new table layout and the option to pre-order your meal so there’s less contact all together.

The restaurant and kitchen are also undergoing additional cleaning routines between service and bookings, while drinks are table service only now too.

The Fulwood Arms

The Fulwood Arms, Aigburth Road (The Fulwood Arms)

Aigburth pub The Fulwood Arms also made the list from ECHO readers, with the pub operating strict social distancing rules since it reopened.

The pub is seating only and asks customers to remain so during their visit, as well as use the hand sanitiser provided and stay behind the line at the bar to ensure social distancing.

Aigburth Arms

Another Aigburth pub, the Aigburth Arms on Victoria Road is enforcing strict social distancing rules for all customers.

The pub has implemented a one metre social distancing policy, a one-way system and even changed its floor plan to accommodate the measures.

Extra seating has been added where live entertainment would usually take place and standing while drinking is only allowed outdoors.

The team at the pub has also been trained in "Covid cleaning standards", with an enhanced cleaning schedule and hand sanitising stations throughout the venue.

The Willow Bank

Townsend Lane pub The Willow Bank has been named by ECHO readers for its spot on social distancing measures too.

The Anfield pub has been strict with its social distancing rules and has taken to Facebook to thank customers for keeping to the rules and staying in their social bubbles.

Panoramic 34

ECHO readers commended Panoramic 34’s social distancing too.

The restaurant has made several changes since reopening after lockdown, with reduced table times and menus.

Panoramic 34 promises an experience “as wonderful as you would expect”, adding that all staff are Covid trained in all aspects of food hygiene and Covid compliant health and safety.

Dockleaf

Dockleaf at the Cains Brewery Village (Dockleaf)

Another Cains Brewery Village favourite, Dockleaf has ECHO readers praising its social distancing.

The bar and restaurant is utilising its outdoor space as a seating area, so customers should only need to enter if they’re wanting to use the toilets.

According to its website, staff monitor the social distancing measures throughout the day, with spaced out seating, and a one-way system also in place.

Enhanced cleaning routines have also been created.

The Edge at Joey Orrs

Rice Lane pub The Edge at Joey Orrs has been praised for its social distancing measures by ECHO readers.

Staff have been sticking to social distancing and using PPE where necessary, along with floor markers and space out tables for customers to adhere to the rules.

Cowshed

Social distancing at Seel Street restaurant Cowshed has been labelled "perfect" by ECHO readers.

The venue has been operating at a reduced capacity, with floor plan changes and downsized tables available.

Since reopening, the restaurant has implemented several new safety measures, including a limited capacity.

Delifonseca

Delifonseca Dockside on Brunswick Way (Delifonseca)

Dockside restaurant Delifonseca, on Brunswick Way, has been a hit with ECHO readers thanks to its impressive social distancing measures.

While walk-ins are available, the restaurant has a limited number of tables available and is currently operating on a cashless basis.

The restaurant has implemented enhanced cleaning schedules and safety measures throughout the venue and deli.
