Liverpool 'prepare' massive Kylian Mbappe contract as Real Madrid decision made

The final international break until March is now complete as Liverpool currently sit in fourth - four points behind leaders Chelsea.

Liverpool return to Premier League action tomorrow against Arsenal and then face a hectic festive period and the recruitment team will have targets in their minds going into the January transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp has a relatively quiet summer, with Ibrahima Konate, a deal agreed before the end of May, the only major acquisition at Anfield.

Could there be more Liverpool moves on the way in the New Year sales? Here’s a round-up of some of the latest speculation from around the web on the tittle-tattle trail.

Who?

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

Where?

Spanish publication Defensa Central.

What?

According to the report, Liverpool are preparing a massive contract offer worth €30 million per year to beat Real Madrid to the signing of Mbappe.

Defensa Central claims that the Reds are planning to blow Real out of the picture in the race to sign Mbappe this summer.

The talented youngster has previously been linked to Liverpool and Real, and looked to set to be leaving the French capital in the summer after informing the club of his desire to leave.

Madrid attempted to take full advantage of the situation but failed with a second bid for Mbappe worth €200m (£171.7m) on transfer deadline-day, while a third offer from the Spanish side was reportedly ignored by PSG.

Who?

Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.

Where?

FourFourTwo.

What?

Liverpool, according to the report, have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Erling Haaland, with one club supposedly dropping out of the race to sign the striker.

The Reds remain, the report claims, one of four Premier League clubs interested in the Borussia Dortmund man but Real Madrid have “pulled out of the race”.

FourFourTwo claims that the Spanish side are instead focussing their efforts on Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer instead.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are said to be the other English clubs chasing the 21-year-old with the report saying that Haaland “has his eyes set on going to the Premier League”.

Who?

Porto winger Luis Diaz.

Where?

Portuguese outlet Radio Renascenca.

What?

Liverpool have been rumoured to be interested in Diaz by various publications, following his performances for the Portuguese side.

Despite also being linked with Everton and Newcastle in recent weeks, Sport Witness focussed on the reports linking the 24-year-old with a move to Anfield.

The report carried quotes from an interview Diaz’s agent Carlos Van Strahalen did with the Portuguese outlet, where he admitted there had been interest in his client.

He said: “It’s normal. If a player plays well, if he starts to stand out, if the majority considers him the best player in the Portuguese League, if he’s the top scorer and is making a high-level Champions League, that interest is normal.

“Can he leave Porto? I don’t know.”
