Liverpool predicted starting lineup for Arsenal clash in Carabao Cup

Liverpool return to action on Wednesday night to take on Arsenal in the Carabao Cup fourth round, with a number of changes expected from the side that beat Tottenham 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has been known to give youngsters a chance in the competition in the past, and with his side also competing in the Champions League and with the World Club Cup and FA Cup still to come, he is unlikely to risk many of his big names for this encounter.

The Reds comfortably saw off MK Dons 2-0 in the previous round with a mix of first-team players and youngsters, with goals from James Milner and Ki-Jana Hoever doing the damage.

And a number of youth prospects who started that game are likely to return to the starting line-up on Wednesday, such as goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and forwards Curtis Jones and Rhian Brewster.

17-year-old summer signing Sepp van den Berg may also get the opportunity to shine, and is thought to be in line to partner Joe Gomez at centre-back.

Hoever is likely to retain his spot at right-back following his goal in the previous round, with Milner tipped to slot in at left-back.

Two goal Champions League hero Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will provide a threat going forward, while Adam Lallana, who netted the equaliser at Manchester United , should start.

Naby Keita and Divock Origi should complete the starting eleven, which means there will be valuable rests for key players such as Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Bobby Firmino.

Liverpool have not won the competition since 2012, when they beat Cardiff on penalties, although they lost in the final to Manchester City on penalties in 2016.

Liverpool predicted lineup: Kelleher, Hoever, Gomez, van den Berg, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Keita, Origi, Brewster, Jones
