Liverpool have confirmed that their scheduled under-23 fixture at home to West Ham United on Sunday has been postponed.
Liverpool were due to welcome the Hammers to The Academy in Kirkby later this afternoon.
But the Premier League 2 game was called off on Saturday night at the request of the Anfield club.
West Ham said the decision has left them 'naturally disappointed' as their team had already travelled to Merseyside for the game.

The Hammers claimed in a statement that they were told on Saturday evening of the decision and that Liverpool had informed them that they were unable to fulfil the fixture.
A statement on the Liverpool website read: “Liverpool U23s' game against West Ham United on Sunday has been postponed.
“The Premier League 2 match was scheduled to be played at the Academy.
“Rearranged fixture details will be announced in due course.”
While a statement on the West Ham website read: “West Ham United can confirm that Sunday’s Premier League 2 fixture away at Liverpool U23s has been postponed.

“West Ham were informed on Saturday evening of the decision, which was taken by Liverpool with the hosts stating they would be unable to fulfil the fixture at the Liverpool Academy Training Ground.
“West Ham United U23s are naturally disappointed the clash will not go ahead, especially given the fact they had already travelled to Liverpool in preparation for the game.
“A revised date for the match will be confirmed in due course.
“As a result, West Ham U23s’ next fixture is currently scheduled to take place against Leeds United U23s on Monday 10 January at 7pm.”
The postponement means Liverpool's last Academy fixture of 2021 was the U18s' 5-0 win at Burnley on Saturday morning.
