Liverpool are reportedly plotting a £31million swoop for Werder Bremen forward Milot Rashica.
The 23-year-old has attracted significant interest from the Anfield club, despite Bremen struggling in the Bundesliga's relegation zone.
They currently sit just a point off the bottom of the table, but Rashica has still managed to provide seven goals and three assists so far this campaign.
Jurgen Klopp is preparing to invest in his squad this summer after spending little in the previous two transfer windows.
German publication Bild report Klopp has been tracking Rashica's progress personally, with a view to making a move during the close season.
Rashica can play as a central striker, but is more natural operating on the left of a front three.
He is already well versed in the rigours of European football, having spent three years with Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem prior to his switch to Bremen.
Klopp has now identified the Kosovan international as a potential back-up for Sadio Mane.
Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have struggled to make the desired impact when filling in for Mane on the left flank, while Adam Lallana is set to leave the club this summer.
Lallana is out of contract at the end of the season, and is ready to leave Liverpool in order to gain regular first-team football.
Former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is said to have been in contact with Lallana's representatives over the prospect of linking up with the midfielder at Leicester.
Liverpool could also be set to raid the Bundesliga of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The German international is expected to move on at the end of the season, and admitted he was flattered to be linked with a switch to Anfield.
"Yes I know that Liverpool is the best team in the world at the moment," Werner said on ViasportFotball.
"When you're linked with that team it makes you very proud but in case of that, it's a pleasure, but I know Liverpool have a lot of good players.
"I have to improve myself and to learn much more things to get on this level and to play there."
