Liverpool pledge to help NHS by donating 25,000 protective face coverings

Liverpool have announced plans to donate 25,000 protective face coverings to the club's charity to help the NHS hand out protective equipment to those in need.

The LFC Foundation will work alongside the Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) in order to distribute the medically-approved face coverings to the local health system for free during the coronvirus pandemic.

The club have also launched a range of club-branded face coverings for supporters to purchase.

They are washable and reusable, and funds raised from the sales of those items will go towards the LFC Foundation's efforts to support the local community on Merseyside.

“We want to make sure we can support the areas of the NHS locally that required additional resource," said Matt Parish, director of the LFC Foundation.

"Through the donation of these vital face coverings from the club, and by working with the Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group, we can ensure that happens.

“It’s great to be able to work in partnership so that we can continue offering support to the amazing NHS staff who are doing so much for us all.”
