Unfazed by the big occasion and tracked back well to deny Pedro and clear one later cross while offering plenty going forward. Kept at it second half.

A couple of nervy moments when in possession but strong in the air at both ends, until beaten by Giroud in build-up to the second.

No frills from the recalled centre-back, with distribution sound first half. Strangely stood off Barkley for the second goal, though.

Not much opportunity to roam forward but solid enough defensively before half-time. More attacking after break but little reward.

Sloppy in possession early on which all led to him gifting Willian the ball for the opener. Improved slightly towards break, but his game was then compromised by booking.

Mixed bag throughout, with some silky touches and passes followed by needless tackles and mindless runs. Subbed.

Found it tough going as the game passed him by for periods first half, but showed promise on occasion. Started second half much more strongly, but replaced.

Denied three times by Kepa first half, and left the Chelsea defence trailing at times. Again Liverpool’s biggest threat after the interval. Booked.

So lively in the early stages as he showed what he’s about with perceptive passes and good link-up play in the number nine role. More difficult after break and faded somewhat.

Sharper than at Watford – although that wasn’t too difficult – but inconsistent. Among those to be denied by Kepa before break. Subbed.
