Liverpool player ratings - Jordan Henderson vital but another man enjoys 'very impressive' display

Alisson Becker 8

Not much to do with his hands first half and instead impressed with footwork. Good save from Traore and Jimenez second half as Wolves pressed.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 6

Won and delivered the corner for the opener. Defensively sound against Jonny first half and helped Gomez when needed but a lot tougher after the interval.

Joe Gomez 8

Didn't have it easy initially up against Jimenez but grew into the game. Couldn't really be blamed for equaliser. Very, very impressive second half.

Virgil van Dijk 7

Sheer presence did for Jimenez and Jonny with one fine moment of defending and blocked well from the former before the interval. Solid after break.

Andy Robertson 5

Hands full whenever Traore marauded, which was a bit of a physical mismatch. Not as many forward forays as a result. Didn't find it easy, and booked for a foul on the Wolves man.

Jordan Henderson 8

Timed run perfectly to power in a header for the opening goal. Some vital challenges in midfield, and calm presence of mind inside area to lay on the second.

Gini Wijnaldum 6

Played with economy before the break and forced into some lung-busting retreats to keep up with Traore. Ended up in the front three briefly at one point.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 6

Some good touches early on, one fine pass almost releasing Mane. Used possession well. Not as effective when left of front three second half. Subbed.

Mohamed Salah 7

Had one shot blocked first half and often the most advanced Liverpool player. Unlucky with one solo run and drew good save from Patricio second half, but bit greedy when shooting wide later on. Good build-up play for second. Subbed.

Roberto Firmino 7

Buzzed with intent and regularly dispossessed Wolves by dropping deep and linked play well. Had effort saved by Patricio. Tough going after the break, missed good chance but then scored cracking second.

Sadio Mane 7

Put Salah in for one chance and some good tracking back until hobbling off with what appeared a worrying muscle problem.

Takumi Minamino (for Mane 33) 6

Instantly involved on the left wing, but went to the right of midfield after the break. Struggled with the pace of the game on occasion.

Fabinho (for Oxlade-Chamberlain 70) 6

Added a bit more steel to the midfield effort but very rusty in patches, which is understandable.

Divock Origi (for Salah 85)

Wears number 27.
