Liverpool player ratings as Thiago not good enough against Leicester

Alisson Becker 5

Twice saved well from Vardy before break and brilliantly towards the end, but what on earth was he doing for Leicester’s second goal?

Trent Alexander-Arnold 7

Better defensively and a couple of fantastic throughballs deserved greater reward. Played part in opener.

Ozan Kabak 5

Kept matters simple both in and out of possession first half, but untimely slip sent Vardy through for chance and then all at sea during the second-half implosion..

Jordan Henderson 6

Excellent ball released Salah for early chance but fortunate mistake wasn’t punished by Vardy just before half-time. Couldn’t hold back the tide in that crazy second-half period.

Andy Robertson 7

Regular outlet down the left and a real threat. Defended with strong tackles when required.

Gini Wijnaldum 6

Began well with Liverpool dominant but found matters more difficult towards interval. Flashes in the second half but not enough.

James Milner 6

Started with purpose before having to be replaced through injury.

Curtis Jones 6

Always looked to keep Liverpool moving forward and not afraid to put his foot in. Booked and substituted.

Mohamed Salah 7

Had two ambitious penalty shouts, created chance for Firmino and twice couldn’t convert promising openings, but finished superbly for opener.

Roberto Firmino 7

Strong in the press, used the ball well and saw one effort saved by Schmeichel. Great skill to create Salah goal.

Sadio Mane 6

Could have done better with one opening and close with one stretching effort. Caused Amartey a lot of problems first half but quiet after break.

Thiago Alcantara (for Milner 17) 4

Struggled with the pace of play, too often dispossessed, and defensively not strong enough.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (for Jones 75) 6

Couldn’t make any positive impact.

Xherdan Shaqiri (for Wijnaldum 87)

Minutes.
