Alisson Becker 6
Escaped after an early tangle with Semedo and then saved well from the same player. Preferred to punch than catch for the most part.
Trent Alexander-Arnold 7
Slack with possession in opening stages but settled and good cross for one Mane header. Defended well as Wolves pressed second half.
Nat Phillips 8
Got his head on some dangerous crosses and stood firm when required. Cleared out both Jose and later Silva with some trademark powerful headers.
Ozan Kabak 7
Necessary challenge on Traore inside the area but positioning awry on occasion early on. Settled second half and growing partnership with Phillips.
Andy Robertson 6
Not happy up against Traore and didn’t use the ball well on rare forward advances. One good run second half.
Fabinho 7
Overworking in being asked to plug a lot of holes in midfield as Wolves pushed forward regularly first half. Got to grips with matters after the break.
Thiago Alcantara 5
Massively off the pace from the first whistle which seemed to affect his passing. Some iffy tackling led to a booking. Slightly better second half before being subbed.
Gini Wijnaldum 5
Played fine pass in for a Mane chance but otherwise far too peripheral first half, although defended well enough. Subbed.
Mohamed Salah 6
Tried hard to play his way into the game but didn’t get much joy nor quality service. Started to have chances one it opened up late on.
Diogo Jota 7
Largely anonymous until netting cleverly in first-half stoppage time, after which willingness to run at Wolves defence caused problems. Subbed.
Sadio Mane 7
Could have had a penalty when staying on his feet, headed narrowly wide and involved heavily in the opener. Kept at it second half.
James Milner (for Thiago 67) 6
Made an instant impact with his no-nonsense approach to, well, everything.
Naby Keita (for Wijnaldum 67) 6
Some nice touches but main job was in defence.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (for Jota 82)
Pressed hard but use of ball inconsistent.
